Elements was a groove oriented technical metal band that drew upon all musical genres for inspiration. The group was formed in 2005 by Travis Kaszycki and Anthony Albanese as a guitar and drums jam session. After realizing they lacked the instrumentation for a full band, they invited a friend of a friend of theirs to play guitar. Dylan Cote fit right in and contributed countless ideas and riffs for the band to grow upon. Dan Albanese who is the cousin of Anthony Albanese showed interest as being the front man and 'screamer', although he wasn't sure of the technique of how to scream at first. He figured it out quickly, and learned he was quite good at it. The group was well known in the Niagara and St Catharines music scene having played over 100 shows in their lifespan. Justin Sauson played bass on the album 'Cyclic Form' which was released in 2007. Andy Park played bass on 'Slay Ja Vu' which was released in 2017.

Under the Weather was a jazz fusion trio formed by Anthony Albanese, Travis Kaszycki, and Justin Sauson in 2011. Inspired by groove heavy music and odd time signatures, Under the Weather attempted to push the boundaries of music in their writing. They recorded a 4 song demo in Niagara on the Lake with Frank DeTillo in late 2011. All songs were written as a group, and very little prewritten material was used in the writing process. They developed the songs with inspiration from one another. Under the Weather played live in the St Catharines and Hamilton area, drawing an audience that was familiar with technical aspect of the members metal group, 'Elements'.
